This ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Training, brought to you by the Institute for Food Safety Advancement (IFSA), is your opportunity to get certified under a globally recognized food safety program developed by the National Restaurant Association (USA). The program is based on the ServSafe® 9th Edition (2026), the most updated reference tailored to today’s food safety challenges and global best practices. 


Participants will attend the training at the IFSA Training Hall in San Juan City from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided.

Certificate of Completion

Upon passing the exam, participants will receive the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certificate from the National Restaurant Association (USA), accessible digitally via their ServSafe account. A printed Certificate of Participation will also be issued by IFSA for attendees of the official ServSafe® Training Course.


About the Speaker

Ms. Odina Fungo is a certified ServSafe® Food Protection Manager, Instructor, and Proctor, a Professional Food Technologist, and a registered Chemical Technician, with years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, and technical training. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President  of the Technical Services Group at Glenwood Technologies International, Inc., and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Her background brings a practical, science-driven perspective to every session she leads.

1. Who is eligible to attend this training?

There are no formal prerequisites to join the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager training. It’s open to anyone who wants to learn or strengthen their knowledge of food safety, from beginners to experienced professionals in the food and HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) industries.


2. What’s the purpose of this program?

This training is designed to equip participants with both basic and advanced knowledge on food safety management, foodborne risks, hygiene practices, and safety regulations, essential for anyone responsible for ensuring safe food handling and operations. All discussions will be based on the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager 9th Edition (2026).


3. What makes this training different from other food safety programs?

ServSafe® is developed by the U.S.-based National Restaurant Association and takes into account globally recognized food safety standards. The program is regularly updated to reflect current industry best practices, this training by the Institute of Food Safety Advancement uses the latest 9th Edition (2026).


It focuses on real-world application, helping participants understand not just what to do, but why food safety controls matter. The certification is widely trusted by regulators and employers worldwide, making it a strong and practical credential for food safety professionals.

4. What materials and support are included in the training package?

  • Two (2) in-person class sessions led by a ServSafe® Certified Instructor

5. What is the format of the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Assessment questions?

The exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions. Only 80 questions are scored, while 10 are research-based pilot questions. A score of 70% or higher is required to pass, which means getting at least 56 correct answers.


6. What if I don’t pass the exam on my first try?

You may retake the exam. You’re allowed up to two attempts within 30 days. If you’re not successful on your second try, you’ll need to wait 60 days before trying again. A maximum of four attempts is allowed per 12-month period.


Important: For the ServSafe training course conducted by IFSA, the training fee includes only one (1) exam access code. If you need to retake the exam, you must pay for another access code and other related fees.


7. What certificate will I receive after completing the course?

You will receive the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certificate issued by the National Restaurant Association (USA), which will be available in digital format through your ServSafe account once you have successfully passed the examination.


In addition, the Institute for Food Safety Advancement (IFSA) will provide a printed Certificate of Attendance as proof of attendance in IFSA’s official ServSafe® Training Course.


8. How long is the certificate valid?

The certificate issued by ServSafe is valid for five (5) years. Once the certificate expires, individuals are required to undergo the training course again and retake the certification examination, and must successfully pass the exam in order to obtain a new certificate.


9. Is this certification recognized internationally?

Yes, ServSafe® is widely recognized and respected globally


10. Can I use this certification for job applications or business permits?

Absolutely. Many food establishments, both local and international, consider ServSafe® certification a valuable credential for compliance and employment.


11. Will meals be provided during the training?

Yes, meals are included as part of the training package.


12. How do I register?

To reserve your slot, follow these simple steps:

  • Choose your ticket type – Select either Regular or Group from the options above

  •  Fill out the required registration details completely and accurately to secure your reservation.


NOTE: Filling out the website form serves as a reservation only. After submitting, one of IFSA’s representatives will contact you via email to confirm your registration and send your Statement of Account along with payment instructions. Payment must be made through bank transfer to finalize your slot.


Slots will be officially confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.


13. Can I register multiple participants from our company?

Yes! Group registrations and bundle promos are available.


You may register multiple participants by indicating the number of attendees and their full names in the registration form. For Group Promo rates, a minimum of three participants is required to avail of the discounted price.


Companies registering multiple participants for one or more seminars may also opt for bundle packages, which offer group discounts and consolidated billing. For assistance with group or bundle packages, please contact IFSA directly at sales@ifsa.com.ph, and one of our representatives will guide you through the process.


14. I can’t attend this February. Will there be other sessions?

Yes, ServSafe® is scheduled to have another training course session on 26-27th March. 


15. Does the seminar include a hard copy of the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Book (9th Edition)?

No. The hard copy of the ServSafe 9th Edition book is not included in the seminar fee.

16. Can I purchase the ServSafe 9th Edition book through the IFSA?

No. At this time, IFSA is not selling the ServSafe book. However, we are currently working on this, and in future ServSafe training programs, participants may be able to purchase the book directly through IFSA.


For now, participants who wish to own a copy may purchase the ServSafe 9th Edition book directly from the official ServSafe website.

17. Will participants have access to any reference materials during the seminar?

Yes. During the 2-day in-person seminar, participants will:

  • Have access to the ServSafe 7th Edition book for reference during the training

  • Receive a printed summary of the key differences and updates from the 7th Edition to the 9th Edition

18. Will a photocopy or digital copy of the ServSafe book be provided?

No. Photocopying, scanning, or distributing any version of the ServSafe book is not permitted by ServSafe due to copyright restrictions. As such, no photocopy or digital copy of the book (7th or 9th Edition) will be provided to participants.

19. What materials are included in the seminar fee?

The seminar fee includes:

  • Printed copies of the speaker’s presentation slides (PPT)

  • Printed copies of quizzes and practice exams

  • Access to reference materials used during the training sessions


The ServSafe book itself is not included in the seminar fee.
